Welcome to Pacific Northwest Canine, your trusted partner in canine training and boarding, nestled in the heart of Pierce County. Since our inception in February 2020, we've had the privilege of transforming the lives of hundreds of families, guiding them to lasting solutions for their dogs' behavioral challenges.

At Pacific Northwest Canine, we understand that each dog and owner is unique. Our mission is to craft a personalized journey for every client, addressing specific needs with our comprehensive, owner-focused training programs. Our home-based setting ensures a seamless integration of training and boarding services, offering a comfortable, familiar environment that benefits both you and your dog throughout the training process.

Our founders, Brianna and Garrett, bring a blend of professionalism, passion, and deep understanding of canine psychology to every interaction. We specialize in tackling a variety of behavioral issues—from puppy manners to complex aggression cases—employing a balanced approach that combines structure, compassion, and clear communication.

We believe the key to a harmonious dog-owner relationship lies in effective communication. Our training programs are designed not just for your canine companion, but also for you, the owner. By educating and empowering you to become a confident leader, we ensure the progress made during training continues to flourish at home.

Our commitment extends beyond the training sessions. We offer comprehensive post-training support, including follow-up lessons, to ensure a smooth transition and sustained improvement. Our boarding services, highly praised by our clients, provide a reassuring continuity of care, reinforcing the training your dog receives.

The transformation we witness in our clients—both canine and human—is what drives us. The joy of seeing a once anxious or reactive dog become a calm, obedient companion is matched only by the satisfaction of their owners, who find newfound confidence and peace in their relationship with their pets.

Meet the Pack

  • Garrett

    CO-OWNER + TRAINER

With nearly a decade of specialized training under my belt, I've dedicated myself to learning from some of the world's foremost experts in advanced obedience & behavior modification, including Cesar Milan, Jeff Gellman, Nelson Hodges, Robin McFarlane, Sean O'Shea & Tom Davis.

I focus on obedience training and behavior modification with a goal of achieving off-leash reliability so you can enjoy life with your dog to the fullest extent! I emphasize the importance of understanding dog psychology and nurturing the right relationship between dog & owner, something that is chronically overlooked in the dog training industry.

I've had the privilege of helping over 100 families tackle challenges such as aggression, separation anxiety, and resource guarding, alongside general obedience and specialized training needs. Each success story fuels my passion for making life better for dogs and their owners as I used to be one of them!

My journey into dog training began with my own dog, Bella, a 4-month-old Pitbull with severe fear based aggression issues. Faced with high training costs, I worked at a local kennel in exchange for an education in training dogs. This experience not only transformed Bella's life but also set me on my professional path.

  • Brianna

    CO-FOUNDER + TRAINER

With a solid foundation in design and a BFA degree, I bring over five years of dog training experience alongside a unique background in marketing and lead design/videography roles through working at a local animal shelter. My educational journey in dog training includes learning from renowned trainers such as Jeff Gellman, Nelson Hodges and Sean O’Shea, enriching my understanding and techniques in the field.

At the heart of our training program, we focus on obedience and behavior modification with the ultimate goal of creating off-leash reliable dogs. We are balanced trainers who prioritize the study of dog psychology and fostering healthy relationships between dogs and their owners. My approach is very hands-on, working directly with clients through private lessons, and I provide extensive support materials, including a detailed 22-page homework packet to enhance learning and client education.

My passion for dogs has been lifelong, stemming from my childhood filled with canine companions. My professional journey began at an animal shelter, where the plight of many dogs having been living there for months, even years due to behavior issues, inspired me to pursue training. Partnering with Garrett, we leveraged our complementary skills to launch our own business. This venture allowed us to establish a comprehensive training program operated from our home.

The turning point in my career was tackling the challenges faced by my own dog, who suffered from severe separation anxiety and resource guarding. Under Garrett’s mentorship, I mastered crucial aspects of dog psychology and behavior management, transforming both my life and that of my dog.
